How to avoid Job Scams?
Being aware of some basic tactics and taking steps to protect yourself, you can reduce the risk of falling victim to job scams.
D&B Placements never charge any fee.
D&B Placements does not charge any fees or money at any point during our hiring process with the candidate. We want to make it clear that anyone claiming to be from D&B Placement (or Digital & Beyond, India) who asks for payment from you is a scammer trying to trick you.
We never authorise anyone to collect money from candidates, and we don’t allow our employees to ask for payment from you either. If someone contacts you claiming to be from D&B Placements or Digital & Beyond, India and asks for money, it’s likely a scam. Don’t give them any money!
Important Notice: Authentic Communication and Job Scams
At D&B Placement, we’re committed to finding top talent. However, be aware that some individuals are misusing our brand name and claiming to represent us. These scammers may demand money in exchange for fake job interviews or positions with D&B Placement or our clients. They may also create fake websites to make their claims appear legitimate.
Important: To ensure your safety and protect yourself from these job scams, please note that all communication related to offer letters will only be sent from official D&B Placement email IDs (eg. digibyn.com). Never respond to unsolicited job offers or pay any fees for job interviews or positions. If you’re unsure about a job opportunity, contact us directly through our official channels.
Remember, your safety and security are our top priority.
Protection from job-related risks and scams during the job search process
At D&B Placements, we prioritise the safety and well-being of our candidates throughout their job search process.
We understand that some job seekers may inadvertently fall prey to job scams. To prevent this, our recruitment consultants follow a rigorous process to ensure transparency and integrity. As a human-centric organisation, it is our duty to educate job seekers on what to expect during a standard job search and empower them to make informed decisions. By doing so, we can help individuals and organisations unlock their full potential.
What is a job scam?
Job scams typically manifest as fake job postings on social media and unverified job websites, promising lucrative opportunities. Scammers may also target victims through unsolicited text messages or messages on Facebook and WhatsApp, advertising non-existent job openings.
To perpetuate the fraud, scammers will often ask victims to share personal information, such as their phone number, or request small payments to secure a fake interview or gather more information about the fraudulent job.
Our Recruitment Process
When applying for a job through D&B Placements, you will go through a formal interview process with both D&B Placements and the companies we represent. This process typically includes:
- A formal email from a D&B email address
- Phone or video calls with a recruiter to discuss your career goals and job expectations
- Face-to-face or virtual meetings to negotiate salary and benefits.
Important Notice —
D&B Placements is not responsible for any activities or false promises made by fake recruiters or job scammers. We advise you to exercise caution and use your own judgment when dealing with such individuals. If you suspect a fake job offer, please report it to us at hr@digibyn.com
Remember to always prioritise your safety and security when applying for jobs.
Protect Yourself from Online Job Scams
Scammers have adapted to the digital age, using social media and messaging platforms to trick victims into sharing sensitive information or sending money. These scammers often use convincing stories, fake profiles, and urgent requests to manipulate their targets.
- Verify the authenticity of messages and profiles before engaging
- Be wary of urgent requests for money or personal information
- Don’t share sensitive information or financial details online
